Vivek Kavil: Bangalore/Kunnamkulam, Kerala, India; ശത്രുവകാൻ തിടുക്കം കൂട്ടിയിരുന്ന ഒരു സുഹൃത്ത്‌ തന്ന പേരാണ് വിച്ചു. ചിലപ്പോ തന്നതുമാവില്ല; തട്ടിപ്പറിച്ചു ഓടിയതാകും. പിന്നെ ദൂരെക്കളയാൻ തോന്നിയില്ല.. വിച്ചു എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നവർ ചുരുക്കമേ ഉള്ളൂ. വിവേക് എന്നാണ് പേര്. നാല് വർഷമായി ബാംഗ്ലൂരിൽ വിഷ്വലൈസർ ആയി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു. എഴുതാൻ ഒരുപാട് ഇഷ്ടമാണ്. തിരക്കിട്ട ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ക്ഷീണം കാർന്നുതിന്നുമ്പോൾ, ചതച്ചരച്ചിട്ടും ചാവാത്തൊരു അലസത പലപ്പോഴും എഴുത്തിൽ നിന്നും പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കാറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും, ഇന്ന്, പുതിയ ആകാശവും പുതിയ കിളികളും പുതിയ പൂക്കളുമായി മാറ്റത്തിന്റെ പുതിയൊരു ലോകം എന്നിലെ ശുഭാപ്തി വിശ്വാസിയെ എഴുതാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കാറുണ്ട്. വീണ്ടുമൊരു തലോടലിനു വേണ്ടി കാത്തു കിടക്കുന്ന കുത്തിക്കുറിപ്പുകളാണധികവും. കവിതയും കഥയുമൊന്നും ആയിക്കൊള്ളണമെന്നില്ല. ഒരുപക്ഷെ എന്നെ മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ഈ കുത്തിക്കുറിപ്പുകൾ ധാരാളമായിരിക്കും. കാരണം, ഇതിൽ കവിഞ്ഞൊന്നുമില്ല ഞാൻ. ഇതിൽ കവിഞ്ഞൊന്നുമില്ലെന്റെ ലോകവും.
